These terms govern your use of the Ikimotion Studio website (ikimotion.com) and editor (ikimotion.app), together “the service”. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them.

Who we are

The service is provided by Ikimotion Studio, an independent software studio based in Texas, United States (“we”, “us”). The legal name and address of the operating company will be added here when it is formed. You can reach us at hello@ikimotion.com or through the contact form; for privacy matters, write to privacy@ikimotion.com.

The service

Ikimotion Studio is a browser-based editor for rigging and animating 2D characters, with real-time collaboration and export to formats used by other applications. The service is in early access: features change, and there may be interruptions while we improve it.

Your account

  • You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EEA and the UK), or the age required by the law where you live, to create an account.
  • Give accurate information and keep your sign-in credentials safe. You are responsible for activity under your account.
  • Tell us at once if you suspect someone else is using your account.

Your content

  • You keep ownership of everything you create or upload: artwork, rigs, animations and exports (“your content”).
  • You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process and display your content only as needed to run the service for you and the people you share it with, for example to save your edits, sync them to collaborators and build your exports. This licence ends when your content is deleted, except for copies kept in backups for a limited time or where the law requires us to keep them.
  • Only upload content you have the right to use. If you import a model or artwork made by someone else, make sure its licence allows it.

Sharing links

Every project has members. Its owner invites people as editors or viewers with invite links, changes their roles and removes them. A project’s view-only review link lets anyone who has it play the model without an account. You decide who receives these links and are responsible for sharing them only with people you trust.

Help improve Ikimotion

Each project has an optional Help improve Ikimotion setting, off by default. While it is on, the project shares its edits, imported PSD files, snapshots and tool usage with us, and you give us a licence to use that data, including the artwork in it, to find and fix bugs, understand how the service is used, improve features and develop new ones, including rigging assistance that learns from how rigs are built (machine learning). The project’s owner and editors can turn the setting off and delete the shared data at any time from the project’s Share panel. The Privacy policy describes exactly what is collected. Turn it on only for projects whose content you are entitled to share this way.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • break the law or infringe anyone’s rights, including copyright and trademarks;
  • upload content that is illegal, sexualises minors, or harasses or threatens people;
  • try to access projects, accounts or systems you are not authorised to access;
  • disrupt or overload the service, or work around its limits or security;
  • use the service to build a competing product by copying it.

Exports and other applications

The service can export models and animations in formats read by other applications, including VTube Studio and other applications built on the Live2D® Cubism SDK. Those applications and SDKs are provided by third parties under their own terms and licences, which apply to your use of them. Live2D and Live2D Cubism are trademarks or registered trademarks of Live2D Inc. This product is not affiliated with or endorsed by Live2D Inc.

Plans and payment

  • Plans: Ikimotion Studio is offered as the Creator and Studio plans shown on the Pricing page, billed monthly or yearly.
  • Free trial: you can try Creator free for 7 days without entering a card. When the trial ends, your projects stay yours: you can still open, export and download them. Editing and collaboration need a plan.
  • Reseller: purchases are made from Paddle.com Market Limited (“Paddle”), our reseller and merchant of record, under Paddle’s buyer terms. Paddle handles payment, billing, invoices and sales taxes.
  • Renewal and cancellation: subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in the billing portal; you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
  • Refunds: refunds follow Paddle’s buyer terms. Consumers in the EU and the UK can cancel a purchase within 14 days, as the law requires.
  • Price changes: if we change our prices, we tell subscribers in advance, and a new price applies at the earliest from your next renewal.

Our intellectual property

The service, its software, design, documentation and the Ikimotion name and logo belong to us or our licensors. These terms do not give you any rights to them except the right to use the service as described here.

Feedback

If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.

Suspension and termination

You can stop using the service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put the service or other users at risk, and will tell you why unless the law or safety prevents it. Before closing an account for reasons other than serious abuse, we will give you a reasonable chance to export your projects.

Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and, during early access in particular, without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. Keep your own backups of important work (the editor offers project backups as .rigproj files).

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, profits or revenue, and our total liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim and US$100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, and disputes go to the state and federal courts located in Texas, unless the law of the country where you live as a consumer gives you other rights.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms as the service develops. We will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell account holders before they take effect. If you keep using the service after that, the new terms apply.

Contact

Questions about these terms: write to hello@ikimotion.com or use the contact form.
